A wise character named Atticus

A classic yet suspenseful book that has such a wise character named Atticus. The book is called To Kill A Mockingbird written by Harper Lee. Atticus gives wise and useful information to all, no matter who they are and how they act. Atticus is one of the main characters and is the father of Jem and Scout. Tom Robinson is an innocent black man who is initially charged with the rape of a white woman named Mayella. This book is considered a classic book and an enjoyable read. It does make sense for Atticus to defend Tom Robinson because Atticus is intelligent, and has a long time of experience when it comes to law enforcement.

Why do we meet?

The purpose of our group is to converse about topical issues of our day with fellow freethinkers and nontheists; to meet others in a social setting who are equally unburdened with the shackles of religious belief. To organize and defend the notion of separation of Church and State, to the best of our ability.
